Our Mission

The Lukas Community is a life sharing home for adults with developmental challenges. Rooted in the principles of social therapy and inspired by the work of Rudolf Steiner, our mission is to foster growth, connection, and purpose through daily life lived together.

As a nonprofit community, we believe that every person deserves to live with dignity, contribute meaningfully, and be celebrated for who they are. Our residents, caregivers, and volunteers form a close knit community where care is mutual, and each day offers opportunities for learning, creativity, and belonging.

  • We live and work side by side. From cooking and gardening to music and craftwork, our shared rhythm supports the body, nourishes the soul, and uplifts the spirit. We uphold the rights of every individual and embrace diversity, ensuring that everyone is included fully in the cultural, social, and economic life of our community.

Our work is not transactional. It is transformational. Together, we create a home where people are not only cared for, but also empowered to care for others.
